Chip summer coat

Chip'n Dale of Surprise - April 11, 2000
Champion of Russia, Junior Champion of Hungary, RFSS, 3XBOB, BIG, 2XR BIG
I could not resist the opportunity to buy an International Champion when he was offered to me. Chip is already seven years old so it is another case of incorporating a proven personal health and temperament history into my line of dogs from an early point to make a solid foundation at Haskell’s Westies. He is also super-gorgeous; all pups he has will be Championship sired; his pedigree will work wonderfully with my new Hungarian girls and I hope to produce show quality puppies from them in the future.

Chip has settled in to our home remarkably quickly for an older dog. Chip is a fantastic dog in looks but also in personality. He is very much like a living teddy bear – always in a good mood. A merry little soul is our Chip.

My thanks go to Cheryl Piech of Jubilee Kennels (USA) for even considering selling me such a glamorous foundation to my line as she downsizes her kennel.

Chip has 25/30 ancestors who are at least a champion.

Chip picked out his favourite spot in the house after a short time. He likes to sit near me when in the living room and chose the spot on the floor (or on the couch if vacant) next to me where he can get a good view of the TV. I have never owned a Westie with such a thick and luxurious coat - it is beautiful but requires a comb- through each evening. Chip is a total teddy bear of a dog. Considering he only has known our family such a short time - he is so pleased to see us in the mornings and we can pick him up like a cuddly toy. He is a  a darling little boy and we are very thankful to have him.

Update: Now that he has been here a while he thinks he has the right to the sofa if somone else is on it or not :-) He does the funniest thing in the evening - he lays on his back on the sofa to cool off and have a nap the all of a sudden wakes up and turns over - his hair is all askew and he looks so surprised every time he does it.

Chip's sister's pedigree
Chip's son's pedigree
Because Chip's championships do not show up on my CKC ownership form or on the AKC three generation pedigree that I have for him because they were earned in Europe, I asked his original breeder, Annamaria Vizmathy to help me get an Hungarian pedigree for him. It turned out to be a bit complicated as I am not listed as the owner in Hungary, instead she provided me with his sister's pedigree Cream Caramel of Surprise - whom she has kept and who is the mother of her Intch. Copyright of Surprise. Chip's pedigree would be the same. She also provided me a copy of the pedigree of a son of Chips when he was still in Hungary in 2004 - this shows Chips championships. I am posting them here for you to view. Many of his ancestors may be Googled to see photos.
