This is a very lively litter of pups! Duncan is my smartest male dog and Maggie is one of my smartest female dogs – I think this has made quite the litter of pups! The boy and little girl #3 are both the quietest pups in the litter and are both quick to settle and easy to work with as far as nails and baths. Puppy #2 and #5 are both little tigers and wrigglers when it comes to nail trimming, puppy #4 is somewhere between the two extremes. Another thing I have seen with this litter that I have not seen with any other is when they are mad they will put their little chins up in the air like Snoopy and have a little howl like a beagle. They have play battles with each other and then cuddle up to sleep.

They have grown a lot this week – they are eating regularly now and enjoy getting out and exploring the world. They just love to be in the living room. I have been pleased at how consistent they have been doing their poops all at one end of the puppy pen – they have been the best litter ever in that regard. They will try and undo your shoelaces and bite your ankles because they haven’t yet figured out that your ankle is part of you. They all like to be picked up and like to lick your chin and get hugs and kisses back. They have been enjoying the toys playing with them and using them as pillows to sleep on.

AT SIX WEEKS - they are all cute, lively and busy little pups. They do a lot then crash into a heap. Non of them like getting baths or toenails trimmed and they are all on the feisty side to varying degrees. They are nipping at toes and I am trying to work with them on that. They have been a very clean litter as far as poops on the newspaper and not in the beddding area and I am pleased about that. They won't be getting their vet inspections until seven and a half weeks as things are just too busy for me next week with the Easter Holidays. I don't suspect any problems.
AT SEVEN WEEKS. The pups had their shots, deworming and vet inspection today. All of them are healthy. All have good teeth. There was a bit of a surprise over the weights - #3 seemed lighter to me than the others but today she weighed second heaviest. #4 was more fluff than real weight.
Puppy #5 - 2.2KG
Puppy #3 - 2.04KG
Puppy #2 - 2.02KG
Puppy #4 - 1.87KG
Puppy#1  - 1.85KG

All the puppies went to their new homes on Saturday, April 25th 2009
