My placement policy
for puppies sold as companions on a spay/neuter contract
* I only sell to people who have either owned a terrier before (any kind), OR who have read my page Things to consider when buying a dog and a Westie in particular and understand that a Westie is a high-energy, time consuming commitment for as many as the next fifteen years of the buyers life. A Westie or any other dog should not be bought on a whim but careful thought and planning should have gone into the decision to bring a new young member into your family. A puppy is a lot of work.
* My puppies come with a an optional two-year congenital health guarantee - for full refund of purchase price.
* All my dogs are sold with a lifetime bringback option. Should you need to give up your dog for any reason he or she may be returned to my kennel. Should you have found a new home that you believe will treat your dog as well as you would, I will extend my health guarantee and bring back policy to the new owners if they are willing to abide by the same conditions of sale as you did. If you are unable to find such a good home then the dog MUST be returned to me rather than be put in a rescue facility.
* I do not charge more for female pups. I do not think male dogs are worth less - they are loyal and every bit as lovely. The objectionable aspects of either gender will be non-issues if the dog is spayed or neutered at an early age. You should be making your choice on what you like best about the gender rather than what you like least.
* My companion puppies are sold on the condition that they will be spayed or neutered. The buyer will sign a CKC non-breeding agreement.
* My buyers understand that Westies are house dogs - they were not meant to roam free outdoors or be chained up.
* I do not sell puppies as surprise gifts for third parties.
* I do not have arbitrary policies such as not selling during Christmas holidays - not everyone celebrates Christmas or has huge family gatherings - this in fact could be an ideal time for some people to bring a new puppy home.
* I like to think that I deal with people with fairness and common sense. I want to be fair to all concerned; the dog, the new owners and myself the breeder and this is the reason for my policies.
* I requre new buyers to provide me with the following information:
