Dunsbairn 2008 waiting list
This list requires a $200 non refundable* deposit and
a firm commitment to purchase from approved customers.
The order in which you commit to this list is the order in
which you get to choose your puppy from those offered as companion pet quality. I may choose to keep a puppy for a potential breeding dog or may feel a puppy is suitable to be offered as a show dog then he or she will be pulled from the choice pool. Decisions are not made until after vet inspection at around seven weeks.
I require people to have owned a terrier before (any kind) OR to have read my page "Things to Consider....."
AND to have filled out my approval questions form or otherwise have provided me with this information.
You may be pre-approved for this list without a deposit by filling out this form: Approval of New Owners Information Form however you will not actually be placed on the waiting list without the commitment of the deposit.
* Please note I DO refund if no healthy puppy of the specified gender is born by a mutually agreed upon date. I do not refund for 'changing mind' about buying a puppy, however will hold deposit for a later litter, if a puppy is available, should a change in circumstances make you unable to take a puppy when you had first planned. Please be assured, that if you are dissatisfied with the housing conditions of my adult dogs, or don't feel that they look happy, healthy or cared for when you come to pick up your puppy - I will be refund your deposit on the spot - of course I hold the same right - if you don't seem to interact well the the puppy I too can cancel the deal. Please be aware that we live with up to nine dogs in our house at the same time and three kids - don't expect hospital levels of orderliness especially during mud seasons. I do have kennels that I use to separate dogs in groups (e.g. dogs I don't want bred in 2008 are in "Team Malcolm", but they all get turns each day in the house. You are welcome to see the kennel too.
Please note that you will be released from your commitment after the agreed upon date for a litter if there is not a puppy for you and your deposit will be refunded. However, should you then decide to be placed on a later list, you will be put at the next available puppy choice spot. If your expiry date is longer to begin with you will be placed to the top of the list of the next available litter within your time frame and choice of mother. (Please see the contact info tab for 2008 prices).
I am trying to develop policies that are fair to all and at the same time be transparent in my dealings.
You can visit this notice board for up-to-date developments in the planned litters.
Maggie was recently in heat and, if successfully bred with Chip, there would be a litter born around September 10, 2008. Maggie has only had one previous litter of two little girls, two years ago (September 2006).
I had Raven recently checked out at the vets for a worrisome lump – the vet did a biopsy and it turned out only to be a harmless hair follicle cyst. I will go ahead a attempt to breed Raven with Chip on her next heat which could be anytime from one to three months away. If you are interested in owning (or co-owning with me) a show dog or breeding dog this would be the litter to watch as there will be 27/30 ancestors that have at least a championship. Chip himself is a champion. You can Google the ancestors of Raven and Chip and see many of their photos on the internet. Extra puppies will be offered at the pet price for companion dogs.
I am planning on breeding Minnie with Brinkly but am not sure when she will next be in heat – she has been eager to be bred in the past and is a good mother – she had an unplanned breeding last year with a singleton puppy being born in September 2007. If you meet Minnie you would know how hard it is to tell when she is in heat – she is a bundle of energy.
I have a rotation system of time in the house and time in the kennels; the dogs I don’t want bred are all in one group. Minnie is exclusively with Brinkly; Raven and Maggie are only with Chip.
